Bilton Grange Primary School is a happy, vibrant and nurturing place where every child is encouraged to thrive. Learning sits at the heart of everything we do, and we are deeply committed to helping our children grow into confident, compassionate and curious lifelong learners.
Our dedicated and supportive staff create a caring learning culture in which children are gently guided to be Ready, Respectful and Safe in all that they do. We aim to inspire independence, resilience and teamwork, while making sure that every child feels valued, understood and encouraged. Within our warm and inclusive atmosphere, pupils are supported to discover their strengths and flourish both academically and personally.
We believe wholeheartedly in helping our children embrace a lifelong love of learning. Through a rich variety of approaches, we make learning meaningful, exciting and rooted in real experiences. Our strong nurturing ethos celebrates each child as an individual, ensuring that their unique needs, talents and interests are recognised and supported. Our creative curriculum is designed with both rigour and flair, allowing children to develop, explore and grow in a safe environment where they feel confident to take risks and learn with joy.

About our school
Bilton Grange Primary School welcomes children aged 4 to 11 years old. We have around 320 pupils on roll and 11 classrooms: two classes in Foundation Stage, three mixed-age Year 1/2 classes, three mixed-age Year 3/4 classes and three mixed-age Year 5/6 classes. Situated on the northern side of Harrogate, we are a larger-than-average and highly popular school, proud of our long history and strong community spirit.
Opened in 1919, our school building retains many of its original features while benefiting from modern developments, including a new canteen added in 2016. We also have an independent private nursery on site, as well as facilities for both before- and after-school care, supporting families and providing children with a calm and consistent start and end to their day.
Our community has worked incredibly hard to ensure that our environment supports a high-quality 21st-century education. Every classroom is equipped with a smartboard, and we have over 30 iPads to enhance learning and enough laptops for whole-class computing lessons. Our outdoor spaces are equally valued; children benefit from thoughtfully developed areas including Tolly’s Garden, an outdoor drama stage, a play trail and a multi-skills area—each designed to enrich learning, wellbeing and creativity.
